Happy Valentine's Day

I have never celebrated Valentine's Day. Ever.

Having dinner with friends because we're rebellious don't count. That's not really celebrating, anyway.

Most of my previous relationships don't last till Valentine's Day.

There was one, though, but we broke up 2 weeks after my birthday.
(Hint: My birthday's around the corner)

That was 5 years ago.

He had promised to call me that day. He didn't.

When I called shortly before midnight, just so that I could wish him Happy Valentine's Day before I go to bed, I went to sleep crying when I hung up.

That day, at age 19, I swore never to fall in love again. Ha ha. Yeah, right.

I heard he's seeing someone now. I hope he remembers how he made me cry that day, 5 years ago. I hope he will not do the same to her.

I was 16 when I first got flowers on Valentine's Day. Yes, I was a late bloomer.

Poor guy didn't know I *almost hate* roses.

Rang the doorbell 15 minutes before 12am and woke the whole family up. And then he gave me 3 red roses, wished me Happy Valentine's Day, and left.

My mum went on to blab to my cousins and my aunts about how some young man came over so late in the night just to give her daughter flowers.

I wanted to die.

It was a sweet gesture, though.

Guess what?

I'm not celebrating again this year =)

But I'm a little high on life at the moment.

I choose not to wallow in self pity.

I choose to go for steamboat dinner this year =)

What?

At least I'm original. Choosing a swanky restaurant would be a mistake because huggy-wuggy-look-into-each-others-eyes couples will be at every corner. Besides, which guy would actually risk bringing a girl to a steamboat restaurant on Valentine's Day?

My friends call themselves rebellious. I shall not comment on that.

To those who are attached, have a great one with your significant other.

To those who are still single, get high on life, like me. Jom, steamboat =)

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone.
