Happy birthday Michelle

And they are very old pictures, I know.

But they are probably the only ones I have of you.

You'd probably hate me for putting this up cos we look so stupid. Haha.

But have a good one this year, you.

Happy Birthday to me II

Exactly a month after my actual birthday, I had a pretend birthday celebration with the girls.

Basically it was really a face stuffing session and an event to commemorate the end of Emily's seafood fast.

I was surprised the cake said "pixie" instead of my name.

I loved it.

Thanks girls.

Friendster pictures

On my favorite boy's first birthday <3

Somewhere in October 2007, I went to my cousin's wedding tea ceremony in the morning and straight to work after that in a tube dress and full make up.

Halloween 2007, I had Emma dress me up as a biker chick with studs and spikes.

The Kite Runner

A few months ago, my brother sent me some presents for my birthday.

Along with it came a note that read:

Hello Sis!
Here's a more real birthday present! A book! I'm not sure if you have much time to spare, but this ought to be a nice fiction! I hope you enjoy it. Take care of your health--may you enjoy goodness and wholeness always--along with Mum, Dad and Brother!

Your Younger Brother
It was The Kite Runner.

I read on my way to Cambodia. I read it while waiting in the airport in Phnom Penh. I read it on the bus ride from Siem Reap.

Sometimes I smiled to myself. But mostly, I found myself brushing stray tears from my eyes.

He was right. I enjoyed it.

For you, a thousand times over.

When words fail me

Carol is one of my favorite EPs of all time. She looks like an assuming auntie-next-door. But once you get to know her, though still the auntie-next-door, she can swear like a sailor, demand a cigarette from me and weave in and out of traffic well above the speed limit. 2007.

Lina is back in KL once a year. And she always made it a point to meet up and we've always had at least one meal together when she's back. Siva was our class's sole prefect and accomplice in hiding all our barang larangan on days when we have spot checks. January 2007.

While waiting for the queen herself at Quant's surprise party. We couldn't order and we were starving. She turned up about an hour later. January 2007.

The day I met Wendy, we went shopping together but walked away empty handed. She invited me back to her house after that where she whipped out a bunch of presents and told them they were for me. January 2007.

These are lilies. They are my favorite flowers. Do not give me red or pink roses because they are cheesy and they look cheap. Remember that these are lilies and they are my favorite flowers. Picture taken during a shoot that saw many arguments and tears. September 2007.

A very late introduction

And here are pictures of my favorite boy in the whole wide world on the day he was born last year.

My favorite boy bundled up in soft baby blankies approximately an hour after he was born.

He's a tough cookie this one. He was not the slightest bit daunted when he stared at me with those black liquid eyes of his barely 30 minutes after he was born.

Can't see his face, I know. But it's hard to get a short of a wriggly red angry baby who doesn't want to be out of his mummy's tummy yet.

Say hello to Jaden Simon Yap, world.

Pixie is a cheap drunk

Some months ago, on Mei's birthday.

That's Shan's hand with that bottle of foul tasting water. I probably spilled half of it on myself. Yes, that is a bin.

Picture courtesy of Jessica. Trust her to get the worst of me.

You may laugh at me now.

Happy Birthday, Miss Fabulous Friday

Happy Birthday, Miss Fabulous Friday.

I'd love to post up pictures from your do. And Mei's do.

And I downloaded so many pretty brushes I wanted to use to edit my pictures.

But the problem is the brushes don't freaking work.

Pissy, pissy.

Meet my new baby

I believe that being 24 years old has made my tastes a little more, um, expensive.

So yesterday, I got myself a second birthday present.

I know.

Behold, my (not so) new baby.

My very own Apple iBook G3
Yes, it's a Mac.

And yes, it's mine.

ALL MINE.

I know, you people are probably scoffing at how I just bought an obsolete notebook.

But so what?

Do you have one?

Don't have, shaddup.

Oh, yeah, this is my first blog post on my Apple =)

PS: It's my birthday again. I'm born on the 8th day in the first month of the lunar year. Theoretically, I'm 25 years old in Chinese years. Realistically, of course, I'm only 24. If you insist otherwise, I might just let you try out my backhand slap =)

Happy Birthday to me,
Happy Birthday to me-eee,
Happy Birthday to meeeeeeee~

It's my birthday so I bought myself a present =)

For the uninitiated, this is the best eyelash curler in the whole world =)

I knowwwwwwwwww =)

Girls, go get it at your nearest Shu Uemura counters.

Daddy's Birthday

We celebrated Daddy's birthday last month.

It must've been 10 years ago that we last took a picture together as a family.

Daddy turned 55 this year.

When we walked in to the restaurant, he bumped into his high school friend.

Drama, right?

And that uncle-something said,
"Wah, 55 years old ah. Time to retire lah!"

Is. Quite. Char. Dou.

So Daddy said, "No lah. You retire first lah. You're older than me mah."

Uncle-something bounced back with "Eh, we're in the same class last time what. I haven't celebrated my birthday this year you know!"

At this point, it was only polite for us to sit at the table quietly and pretend to discuss what we should order.

My mum insists that we take a picture together. There is absolutely no resemblance, as you can see.

I put this picture in because they both look so cute here =) Black and white is so old school, yo.
