Yes, the hard disk from my ancient iBook is finally dead.

Finally.

After God-knows-how-many years.

RIP, you.

Coming to an end

This was my last day in Kuala Tahan.

There is something about this picture that makes me smile.

The way everyone kinda just gelled together. Became friends.

Goodbye Teddy

After (almost) exactly 2 years of honorable service to me, it is time for teddy to go.

See how his head is busted and missing a leg?

Truly a war veteran.

Happy birthday Quant

You are 27.

This so serves to remind myself that I will be catching up in a month's time.

Don't you hate getting old?

Didn't we have this conversation before, long ago, when we were still in school uniform?

Dear Facebook

You wanna know why, Facebook?

That's because Barry is dead.

So please stop reminding me, and everyone else that we haven't talked on Facebook lately.

I lost my Ma-ma.

And it still surprises me that she's gone.

Ma-ma, I wish you were here to see who I picked.

I is Malaysian

And there are things that make me really can't stand my own kind.

We have seemed to lose the ability to indicate when driving like an Ah Beng. Want to overtake, just overtake loh.

Many Malaysian drivers have also taken a liking to white headlights. Eh stupid, don't know that it's very glaring, is it?

Most of us also have this baffling habit of littering. It appears that our elders have taught us to litter in people's offices. No place to throw your sweet wrappers or asamboi seed ah? Nevermind, just throw on the floor only.

Then there is customer service. "Please press 1 for English" and the operator who comes on will ask you "Ye, macam mana saya boleh membantu?" National language mah, all must know.

We Malaysians are also very busy people. Which is why we must always answer our calls in the cinema, in the middle of a very emotional scene. While we speak to the other person who can't hear our whispers (so we raise our voices), we must also shake one foot or kick the seat in front. What? I paid already wor. Got problem is it?

Bargaining is in our blood, therefor every single price tag that is thrown our way will be met with a shocking "Wah, why so expensive one?" Upon giving a massive discount, whereby you'd have to suffer losses and maybe sell off your car just to please that person, the next thing to reach your ears would be "So cheap donno whether good or not one. Dowan lah." Aiyah, we must always get the best deal what.

Our neighbors are also very considerate people. Why else would they park their car outside your house for 2 weeks, leaving you no option but to park 200m away from home, when they have ample space inside their own compound? Oh, because they don't want to damage their lawn, so understandable lah.

I is Malaysian.

Malaysia is beautiful.

Christmas of 08

Last Christmas, I was in KLCC park taking pictures of the infamous Petronas Twin Towers and frolicking on the grass.

Exactly 3 days after that, I drove myself home from the airports in tears.

Friendster pictures

On my favorite boy's first birthday <3

Somewhere in October 2007, I went to my cousin's wedding tea ceremony in the morning and straight to work after that in a tube dress and full make up.

Halloween 2007, I had Emma dress me up as a biker chick with studs and spikes.

Phuket September 2006. Beach holiday.

January 2008, with my mum outside our house before we left for a cousin's wedding dinner.

23 Nov 08 to 25 Nov 08

The Lee family's grand escapade to the Highlands.

Steamboat. Must. Eat. In. Cameron. Highlands. Must. Tasty.

Once we started eating, the jackets all came off.

Three generations. Minus some parents. Can you believe the eldest boy among the children is already 12 years old?

That picture you see in brochures and websites. I was there 20 odd years ago.

This boy came home 2 days before we left for the grand family holiday. This boy came home bearing gifts for me. YESSSSSSSS.

Spot the auntie.

One jump outside the Orang Asli Village for the album =)

The obligatory visit to the Boh Tea plantations.

This reminds me of Charlotte's Web.

My favorite.

Ingenious fly trap. Gross, but ingenious nonetheless.

No trip to Cameron is complete without strawberries. The kids had fun picking them but we all knew they were gonna be sour anyway.

Zucchinis?

I've always had a soft spot for forget-me-nots.

The supposed bee farm was such a con job. But I ended up buying a jar of pollen for my sinus anyway.

We stopped by a vegetable farm on our way home and they children helped their grandaunt pick cherry tomatoes.

I have no idea what this plant is called but it had strange fruit-like sacs that are just filled with air.
And this is when we all waved goodbye to Cameron.

Atop the ferris wheel in Yokohama

Kelly Belly and Shezan

Approximately 3 years ago, I met an extremely precocious 4 year old named Kelly.

Actually, there were 2 of them; Kelly and Julia.

They were a pair of gorgeous 4 year old Irish-Indian twins who came to audition for the Shezan commercial I was working on.

The director, Jami, picked Kelly, in the end cos she was a lot more chatty than Julia was.

I found some pictures of the little girl during our wardrobe fit in my old hard disk today.

And then, I dug up that commercial we did.

It felt like such a long, long time ago.

Yesterday #1

Was probably the longest day of my life.

I lost my grandmother.

I washed the pink sweater she was wearing in the morning, in the dark.

Because that is exactly how she liked her things, clean and neat, in place.

I realized I missed her a lot more than I'll ever admit.

September 28

Today my favorite boy turned 1.

He's grown so much from the pictures I found in my ancient phone.
