I was asked to prepare a speech. For one of the girls I've affectionately nicknamed Auntie.

She wanted me to talk about our friendship and the many dramas we'd been through together.

I thought about the first day we met and I picked her up with "Have I seen you somewhere before?"

We took it from there and stuck with each other.

Six years.

We said if we wrote a book about our adventures, we would never finish it; simply because there is too much to tell.

There were our drunken nights, our fights with boys, our long walks to nowhere, our trips to police stations, going home cold, tired and hungry.

And then there were times we spent talking about growing up, everything else that came with it.

Somehow, we knew that the day we first spoke to each other, would be the start to a lifelong friendship.

I tried writing that speech.

It took me forever.

Just how do you put into words, how much someone means to you?

How do you summarize 6 years of friendship and drama into a piece of paper?

And so I didn't write it.

Because words would never do justice to what she is to me.

But believe me when I stood up there that night, and told you that you looked beautiful.

Congratulations, and here's to a lifetime of sisterhood together.
